Boss Battles


In Rhett's Journey, I added two bosses. Those two bosses being Evil Rhett, and the Wall.

The Wall was the first one I made, wanting to finish off this game with a huge climactic boss fight. I made these platforms that automatically move from point A to point B and once they touch point B, they teleport back to point A, Simple.

I so badly wanted to make Evil Rhett move randomly so he would be unpredictable, but I couldn't figure out how to do that. I almost made him follow the player directly but that was not fair at all, especially considering how the rest of the game was hard enough. So, I just made him move to the left and the right of the screen while shooting every 2 seconds.

I originally only made one boss, but I just had to make another boss, so I did. But I also almost made a third boss, this one would have been simple, he starts on the right and then he jumps to the left and as he lands on the ground, he would have shot projectiles at you, but I just felt as if it was just too basic.

I've gotten experience on making bosses from stuff like Mario maker and game builder garage, but I never made a boss COMPLETELY by myself until I made this game. I love boss battles, every time I will make a game, I swear there will be a boss. Mark my words...
